photography and animation by Dave Schmahl
My camera didn't cooperate when I tried to record a video of the annular phase of this eclipse, so I took other photos of mine, of this eclipse, one of the Sun, and one of the Moon's silhouette, and created an animation.
I created 40 separate images and combined them together in this animation.  Each of the 40 separate images is displayed for 2 seconds, and then faded into the next image. The real annular phase lasted about 4.5 minutes from Page, AZ In this animation, annularity lasts about one half that time.

This is the base image of the Sun used in the animation. This is the base image of the Moon's silhouette during annularity used in the animation.
